On initial inspection, the font seems to be okay, although you might want to mess around with the widths a little bit to see if you can squeeze some more characters on each line, and spread out the gaps between words a little more. And lastly, the images appear to be in the standard file type for DS games, which makes life a lot easier!
How you'd prefer to go about editing them is up to you. I personally use a mix of Tinke and Crystal Tile 2. Here's a good tutorial to get you started with editing images in CT2.
Hope this helps! After extracting it there's a readme. The 'broken' part there refers to the tool itself, sorry if that wasn't clear. The original mediafire download link and my GDrive backup are both for v of the tool, an older version that contains an error which replaces every character sprite with this one sprite of Tamaki; Screenshot courtesy of Minako This error was potentially fixed in v1.
No one has been able to get in contact with the members of the original team to see if they still have a copy of that version of the tool, so hacking help is still wanted for this game! There is some useful hacking info about the game on the original GBAtemp thread linked , and also on jjjewel's blog where she wrote up her discoveries.
Member Posts: 2. Hey yall, a friend and i came across this post while looking for an english translation for Ouran, and we've made a tool that allows translation or the replacement of any text. We've only finished this today and i cannot guarantee that it works perfectly, so every bug report is welcome. Wow, that's super cool! Instead, the Ouran High School Host Club, a club that is devoted to entertaining female students, is discovered.
She then continues to attend Ouran, dressed as a boy and working in the Host Club, garnering customer requests, in order to pay off the debt. Ouran DS progresses in a manner similar to the manga and anime. This is accomplished by sitting with Host Club guests and entertaining them.
When you sit down with a girl, or a girl and another host, six topic icons pop up. You then have to choose the one that makes the girl, or girl and host, happiest in order to successfully pass. Scenes from the anime are liberally sprinkled throughout the game in appropriate situations, as flashbacks and such. The dialogue is voiced by the anime's seiyuu.
An official patch was sold for the Playstation 2 game to add an extra mini-story for each host and two new CG scenes. These stories were already included in the Nintendo DS version. Several new characters are introduced into the Ouran cast of characters. They serve as foils with which the more familiar characters can interact and, because of their nature, add drama to the games' storylines. Jean-Pierre is born in France , but raised in Japan.
He is a childhood friend of Tamaki's who remains so even after leaving for Japan at the age of eight. He leads a rival host club at Kenran High, along with members Wang and Yoshitsuna. His family guards international government officials, and he practices Mixed Martial Arts. He is rather unsociable. Wang is from China and enrolled as a foreign exchange student in Japan. His parents are notorious in the banking industry, and he is just as calculating as them.
He does not get attached to people nor show his true feelings. Tsubaki is a student at Ouran Academy and a frequent guest of the Host Club. She actually makes an appearance in the anime as the unnamed guest who is told "she looks like a carp" by Shiro Takaoji in Ep 06 - The Grade School Host is the Naughty Type!
