Tvdb file naming convention

When you click the show you see the season-list only specials and season 1 in this case and if you click season 1 you get a list of all episodes. TheTVDb has all the correct info. If the software doesn't parse the filename correctly you should ask the creators the naming convention they expect. Post Sun Feb 13, am Hi There.. How to name Episode Specials? Episodes are like "S02EWhy this. Post Sun Feb 13, am The way you name the files is entirely dependant on the program you are using.

Most programs like XBMC even let you edit the regex if you like so you can use whatever naming convention you like. It has nothing to do with this site. As for the searchs on the site, you can't search episodes here, only series.

Post Sun Feb 13, am well I'm not goingto change hit-criterias regexp , coz the default is fine SxxExx-xxx. Post Sun Feb 13, am jeremys-up wrote: eg. I use the file names in my first example, which just includes the TV show name with the season and episode numbers. Of course, you are free to choose which naming convention you like best.

For shows that are date-based, the file naming convention is a little different. The structure of the file name would look like:. Both file names contain the date of the show. With the various media types that can be played by Plex, it is best if each content type is stored in its own folder. This means your TV show files would be in a separate folder from your movies.

The easiest method is to simply create folder called "tv shows" that will contain all your TV show files. This folder can be located anywhere, but in my example let's assume it is off the root folder:.

This helps to reduce the chances of not finding the correct metadata for the movie. At no point does this site dictate the naming convention of the file, that would imply that the scraper is sending the file name to us and asking for approval.

Now I'm no expert so I may be somewhat mistaken, but it's my understanding that scrapers pull from, not push data to, this site, and therefore any issues with naming has to be with the scraper. Post Fri Apr 26, pm Again with the colon, it works fine on Linux. Post Fri Apr 26, pm Still failing to see the issue here. I use a Windows OS and can't have special characters in file or folder names and I have never had a problem scraping anything. There are loads of series with "special" characters as part of their name.

And I still don't understand why you're assuming the title has to match directly. Generation What exactly are you asking for? Post Fri Apr 26, pm Clearly he wants us to do the software developer's work for them, which isn't even required as most of them already have this kinda thing sorted Post Fri Apr 26, pm You can't html encode your file names.

Wouldn't work unless the program you're using is seriously flawed. The program does the html encoding, not you. The site I no way requires you to use a colon. What you want to do is talk to your programs developers, there is nothing we can do on this end.

I think what you're asking us to do is change the name of the series but we won't do this for two very simple reasons. It wouldn't help you at all as the site is already returning proper results sans colon and two it would mean series no longer have the proper name. I don't know what your problem is but it isn't with this site.
